Powdered Metal Parts and Products
PM National compacting presses use 32 to 35 tons per square inch of surface area in custom molding dies to manufacture powdered metal parts and products. Each part is then sintered in electric, atmospheric-controlled, continuous furnaces at 2050 degrees Fahrenheit for a specific time to bond the individual particles.
Utilizing this “green” manufacturing process, we are able to engineer and manufacture a wide variety of powder metal products, including:
- Spacers/Washers
- Gears
- Couplings
- Drivers
- Bearing Sleeves
- Inserts
- Retainers
- Pawls/Levers
- Bushings
- Clutch Shoes
- Weights
- Sub-Assemblies
We work with a wide variety of materials, including:
- Iron Carbon Steel
- Copper Steel
- Nickel Steel
- Alloys
- Copper
- Bronze
- CU Infiltration
Secondary Manufacturing Operations
Because powder metal parts usually require some surface treatment for oxidation or strength, we offer a wide range of secondary manufacturing operations, including:
Size/Repress for Dimensional Tolerances
- Oil Impregnation
- Resin Seal
- Assortment of Protective Coatings and Plating
- Zinc Plating with Hexavalent or Trivalent Seal
- Nickel Zinc
- Black Phosphate
- Heat and Steam Treatment
